Help & Advice
If you are recently engaged you will know the feeling of excitement about planning the wedding day of your dreams. Any bride will tell you how much planning and organising goes into creating the perfect wedding day; it's no wonder that many newly engaged couples are overwhelmed and are unsure of where to begin.
Before you can even start planning your wedding it is imperative that you both sit down together to work out what your budget is. Without a wedding budget it is easy to over spend, leading to unnecessary pressures at the start of your married life. Your budget should be broken down into each category i.e. wedding cake, wedding dress, favours, wedding stationery, venue, grooms suit etc.
The average UK wedding in 2012 cost in excess of £20,000, 2013 brides are becoming more astute with their wedding spending with the average wedding expected to cost around £16,000, this is likely to be due to the economic climate. Ideal Bride Magazine have prepared a sample average spend budget to give you an idea of what to include and what the national averages for each category are.
