Vintage Dress Timeline
Sixties London was swinging and witness to a new wave of patriotism with the British Flag becoming a symbol and statement in fashion and lifestyle, due to England's home victory in the 1966 world cup. The men styled themselves on the mods and rockers of the decade and their hairstyles resembled those of the Beatles. Model Jean Shrimpton was the icon of the decade and became one of the worlds first supermodels, she was the highest paid and most photographed at that time; earning her the title of " the face of the 60's." In the same decade model Twiggy became " the face of 1966 " as well as " the queen of mod."
