Dresses For Your Body Shape: Classic Hourglass

An hourglass body shape is the most desired female form and one that fashion designers most often think of when they are creating an outfit or dress. Your bust and hips are in proportion and you have a narrow waist. Complimentary wedding dress styles include; Fishtail, a line with long torso, scoop, V & square necklines. If you are a classic hourglass bride then avoid adding weight with large embellishments at the waist.

Classic Hourglass Wedding Do's

  • A-line dresses with a slightly longer torso will show off your balanced figure if you're slim, while curvier hourglasses look great in styles that emphasise the waist.
  • Look for dresses with scoop, V and square-necks to keep a big bust looking neat.

  • Classic Hourglass Wedding Don'ts

  • Avoid adding weight (i.e. large bows, ruffles or other prominent details). Particularly at the waist, instead opt for detailing at the bottom of the skirt.
