Help & Advice
Since Kate adorned the Queens Jewels in 2011 the trend for tiaras is returning, after all it isn't every day a girl gets to wear the dress of her dreams and be centre of attention. So if you are thinking of wearing a tiara, here are Jenni Bush's top three tips to making sure your tiara is tip top and there will be no tantrums!
Many brides are put off by the idea of a tiara because there are so many bad ones out there. You know the solid rigid hard things you may find in high street accessory shops that pinch and give you a headache. My first rule is don't buy one that hurts, you have to wear it all day! Many tiaras made by designers like myself are made on soft adjustable bands, which do not pinch, can be secured easily and will be comfortable.
Because you don't wear tiaras every day, their size can feel a bit overwhelmingly large or odd and so it is tempting to buy a small petite one. Before you do, try to imagine that you are wearing your dress, your hair has been styled, your makeup is stunning and then put the tiara on; if too small it may get lost! The other side of the scale of course is, if it is too tall, it may make your face look small, be sure to choose a tiara that works best for you.
You need to be confident in your tiara and be sure that is the perfect tiara for you. When investing in that perfect headdress chose wisely, you may wear it only once, but many designers are happy to restyle it into something you will wear again, like a necklace, earrings or brooch, ask them if they offer this service when you purchase your tiara.
