2012 Wedding Trends: Bespoke Headdresses

2012 brides are being more adventurous and experimental with their headdresses. Bespoke headdresses are becoming ever more popular as brides want a unique look for their big day. A bespoke headdress gives the bride an opportunity to create a piece that is reflective of her style and personality.

The Joyce Jackson 2012 collection is full of fashion inspired pieces, the designer behind the Joyce Jackson collection, Diane Hassall tells Ideal Bride the latest trends she is noticing and offers brides her advice when sourcing the perfect headdress. "New trends include hand made silk flowers, asymmetric styles and the resurgence of the tiara. Short, bouffant styles are in vogue, while lace trims and sparkling crystals reflect the current love of embellishment and sparkle.

Birdcage styles are popular and we are seeing some unusual trends like the lace mantilla worn by Lily Allen. Floral details on a little head band work well for brides and bridesmaids alike and reflect the current popularity of the fascinator, as popularised by the Middleton sisters."

"Brides should consider the style of the gown and also the hairstyle she will choose to wear on her big day. For example, a dress with asymmetric detailing will suit a side headdress. A vintage style gown will suit a similarly vintage head dress, perhaps with 1920's detailing (very popular following Downton Abbey!)"

"If she has shorter hair or is wearing hair up, then a detailed headdress with a decorative motif will complement her look while longer hair will look good with a slightly simpler, cleaner line." All bespoke headdresses are by Joyce Jackson, find a stockist at rainbowclub.co.uk
