The Venue
The Ashes is a magnificent Grade II listed family home with two listed barns which have been caringly converted to provide an unrivalled venue for weddings, civil ceremonies, functions and corporate events. Available for exclusive private hire, the barns, which include an old dairy house, have been sympathetically converted and offer a luxurious and comfortable setting providing the perfect venue for a truly unique experience.
Packages can be tailored to meet your exact needs and you can be assured that you will be the sole focus of staff attention from start to finish. The Ashes cater for every choice of function, whether a simple barbecue to a five course banquet, from intimate gatherings for 30 to 40 guests to formal sit-down meals for friends and family of up to 150 guests.
Situated in the heart of the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands, The Ashes overlooks a delightful parkland setting where the tree lined drive can be seen meandering up to the property over an 18th Century stone bridge. The unique & individual photograph opportunities are endless around the property providing the perfect setting for any occasion.
The West Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies and civil partnerships. The stone flagged floor and exposed wooden beams make an individual setting for all sizes of groups, using the viewing gallery allows a maximum of 150 family and friends to witness your ceremony. The Juliet balcony also provides the perfect place for a string quartet to play or for your photographer to get that perfect shot. Following the ceremony, doors lead onto the stone flagged court yard, enabling guests to freely mingle and enjoy the surroundings.
The East Barn is across the courtyard and is entered through a large stone archway and entrance hall, leading to the banqueting hall. The numerous doorways & windows, some with decorative brick infill's, allow the sunshine to pour into the hall making it the perfect setting for your wedding breakfast with up to 150 guests. The glass fronted balcony to the bar & lounge allow you to appreciate this amazing space with its warm oak flooring and wooden beams, a perfect place to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a quiet drink with friends and family.
