Help & Advice
It is a hard task planning a stag weekend. Not only is it a huge responsibility for any best man to organise the ultimate lads' weekend, but it also takes a lot of thought and time. It is vital that it is done right and is a success; you will be subject to ridicule for a long time after the event from your mates if it does not go to plan. It is almost as important as the best man's speech- mess that up and you will be known as a failure. No pressure then!
The first thing to consider when planning the weekend is who will be going? In addition, what would everyone like to do? It is essential that you pick an activity that everyone will enjoy and will guarantee many laughs and enable the groom's different sets of friends to mix and get to know each other.
There is a huge choice of stag activities out there, but this month we would like to take a look at football-themed stag weekends. What better activity to revolve a stag weekend around than the beautiful game? It's a British Institution and a great guys' sport; pick this as an activity and you will have a lot of satisfied mates.
The Stag Company offers a number of football packages with various options: indoor and outdoor 5-a-side tournaments and games, full pitch hire or if you would prefer an ultimate football experience why not book Barcelona's Let's Get Messi Stag Weekend Package and experience the breath-taking, world-famous Nou Camp, one of the world's most famous football stadiums.
Included in the tour is the opportunity to visit the changing rooms and see where the likes of Ronaldinho, Cryuff and Maradona have pulled on the famous Blaugrana shirt. This is followed by a walk through the tunnel and out onto the hallowed Barca turf, nearly 100,000 seats towering above you and extending into the sky for what seems like forever. It is a truly awe-inspiring sight.
Once back inside you'll scale the Nou Camp's steps up to the commentary boxes, allowing you to recreate the famous Gary Neville ‘goalgasm' that occurred when Fernando Torres scored Chelsea's winner in the Champion's League earlier this year. You'll even get to see a few of the trophies that the team has won over the years, as well as enjoying a celebratory beer at the end of it all.
Even if you aren't a football fan, you won't fail to be blown away by the size and scale of the Camp Nou, not to mention the history, culture and passion of FC Barcelona.
