What service can couples expect?

"I offer a bespoke designer service of ornamental cupcake designs and high end boutique cake designs. Free consultations with design and tasting samples for the big day. Every wedding cake comes with a personal design service and a one of a kind creation especially for each couple."

What advice can you offer couples when sourcing their wedding cake supplier?

"When sourcing your cake it is important to recognise the difference in price and quality from a shop bought cake to a bespoke home baked cake. It is always good to have an idea of the size of cake you want, how many does it need to feed. Traditional or modern design, tiered or cupcakes are all questions to ask yourself before starting the hunt for the perfect cake.

Shop around most cake companies will offer free bridal consultations to give you the opportunity to see and taste each baker's cakes and level of work. Don't ever make a comparison between shop bought and home baked the two are totally different! Bespoke cakes are created with love, care, time and attention, often as many as 40 hours work goes into each wedding cake I create, where as shop bought often contain lots of additives, preservatives and are a very generic basic design in mass production to keep costs ultra low, as with most things in life with wedding cakes, you get what you pay for."

When should a couple order their wedding cake?

"I advise booking your wedding cake at least 1 year in advance, I for one take bookings up to 24 months in advance, particularly if your wedding is in the summer months and you have a particular cake designer in mind to create your cake its worth giving them as much notice as possible to ensure your booking."

What do you think will be the next big wedding cake trend?

"I believe the vintage trend will stay around for a couple of years yet but will continue to morph from the current shabby chic trend into a more art deco vintage in 2013, clean edges are becoming more popular as are out of the box themed wedding cakes. I think wedding cakes are a very personal choice and become a real pinnacle of your big day whether themed, colour matched, vintage or modern it has to be PERFECT!"

How important is the wedding cake?

"A wedding cake is as important as the bride makes it. I think more and more couples are seeing the cake as a vital part of the ‘Prettyfications' for their wedding day, it's a talking point and a focal point that will be remembered for years to come. A beautiful cake will make that cake-cutting photo even more special."
