Clearwell Castle

Clearwell Castle is set within the stunning Forest of Dean and provides the perfect fairytale setting for your Wedding day dreams to come true. The magnificent Ballroom is licensed for civil ceremonies and has a 75ft aisle and leaded glass windows, offering a unique and serene setting usually only found in Churches. The Ballroom can also seat up to 160 people for the Wedding breakfast and the elegant reception rooms and the vaulted cellar can easily accommodate 250 guests for evening dancing.

There are 15 beautiful bedrooms within the Castle and grounds, which are reserved exclusively for you on your wedding night ensuring the perfect end to a perfect day as well as a beautiful cottage within the grounds for the Bride and Bridesmaids to stay in the night before the big day. Clearwell Castle is located 20 minutes from the Severn Crossing and 45 minutes from Bristol, Cheltenham and Gloucester.

Start your big day the night before your wedding by upgrading to the two night wedding package. Arrive from 5pm the night before your wedding for relaxed pre-dinner drinks, followed by your choice of informal buffet style dinner served with wine. With full bar facilities and use of the entire house and grounds arriving the night before the wedding provides the perfect opportunity for you and your closest friends and family to meet and relax before your wedding day.

Wake on the morning of your wedding feeling refreshed and revived with a full English breakfast served to you and your guests in your favourite room. A range of outdoor activities can be arranged, such as Clay Pigeon Shooting and Archery for the men to enjoy. While the ladies can be pampered by in-house beauty therapists before the rest of your guests start to arrive from midday.

The Gresham is our luxury Bridal suite and provides the perfect setting for your first night as husband and wife. Clearwell Castle can arrange for champagne and flowers in your bedroom or in the Bridal Suite as a special gift to the happy couple.
