Honeymoon Dreams: Hawaii Package

Many say the honeymoon is the start of a marriage, just the two of you celebrating the start of your lives together, what better way than visiting four picturesque Hawaiian Islands. Made up of eight major islands, Hawaii is a picture, perfect paradise waiting to be explored on this island-hopping Honeymoon.

Unlike many other honeymoon destinations, Hawaii offers a pleasant climate all year round. Direct flights from the UK to Hawaii are not possible, however this honeymoon offers the chance to visit Los Angeles on the outbound or return.

The first stop on your Hawaiian adventure is Kauai, the fourth largest island in Hawaii. Abound with tropical forests, waterfalls and breathtaking beaches, Kauai is definitely an island where exploring is a must. The luxurious Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa gives guests a true Hawaiian experience; spread over 50 acres, it is a oceanfront retreat in the peaceful Poipu area.

Honeymoon Dreams recommends hiring a car to explore the island, this gives you the freedom to visit the many areas of natural beauty that Kauai has to offer. From visiting the Hanalei valley lookout point to boarding a helicopter to marvel at the 4,000ft high cliffs on the islands Na Pali Coast. If that isn’t enough book a relaxing cruise from the Na Pali coast to watch the dolphins leap around in the Pacific Ocean.

After six nights exploring the beautiful island of Kauai, hop on a plane for the short journey to the next stop on your honeymoon, the island of Maui.

With stunning beaches nestled along the entire west coast of the island, and a more tropical coast lining the East; Maui is a haven of discovery. The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa has been chosen for five nights accommodation, enjoy breathtaking views of the Kaanapali Beach and Pacific Ocean throughout your stay.

If you want to explore Maui, then like Kauai car hire is a must; whilst staying on the island visit a traditional Polynesian Luau where you can experience Hawaiian food, music and entertainment against the backdrop of a beautiful sunset.

Dotted around the island are a number of shopping areas; visit Wailea for designer goods, Kahului for popular Hawaiian shops and antiques and the cosmopolitan area of Paia for art-galleries, museums and much more.

After exploring the different areas of Maui, you and your newlywed can retreat back to your hotel and relax on the surrounding beach. Enjoy cocktails, five-star food and spa treatments.

From Maui you will take a half an hour flight to Big Island, the largest island in America. Whilst on Big Island, you will spend four nights at the Hilton Waikoloa Village; the 62-acre resort is set within a sparkling salt-water lagoon making it a destination in itself.

Big Island is a haven for wildlife; swim with sea turtles within the Hilton Waikoloa Village, get up close to a humpback whale and encounter dolphins. Entertainment and nightlife is one of highlights of Big Island; we recommend going to a traditional luau held at one of the islands many resorts. For a taste of real Hawaiian culture, pick up some local street food from one of many lunch wagons that drive along the coastline.

If you feel like shopping, head down to Waikoloa village and peruse the designer shops and traditional Hawaiian stores. Honeymoon Dreams recommends heading to the open-air Keauhou shopping centre, the perfect place to shop, eat and watch the world go by.

It’s your honeymoon so it’s not all about exploring and discovering; head to the adults only pool or beach area at the Hilton Waikoloa Resort and relax until your hearts content.

After four nights on Big Island, it is time to head to your final destination, Oahu; home to Waikiki beach. The perfect combination of five-star luxury and Hawaiian hospitality is on offer at the Hilton Hawaiian Village; placed on the widest stretch of Waikiki Beach, the resort is surrounded by 22 acres of botanical gardens and exotic wildlife.

A must see on the island of Oahu is Pearl Harbor, a five-hour trip lets you visit the Harbor itself and its moving monument. Continuing with the history and culture of the island, turtle bay is a must visit; the five miles of pristine beach was used as a backdrop for famed TV-show Lost.

One of the many highlights of Oahu is Waikiki Beach; if you’re a surf virgin this is the perfect location to start from scratch with a surfing lesson from one of the professionals. After spending the day with the waves, carry on your Hawaiian journey learning how to hula dance at a Paradise Cove Luau.

After spending 14 nights island hopping and discovering the culture of Hawaii, we think it’s time to relax. After visiting the monuments and attractions, spend the last few days of your honeymoon on Waikiki Beach and the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

It may seem like a lot of flying, moving around and unpacking but the culture, weather and pure beauty of Hawaii makes this island-hopping Honeymoon definitely worth it.
