Honeymoon Dreams: Seychelles Package

You’ve had your final dress fitting, cake tasting and florist appointments leading to your dream wedding; now it’s time to create your dream honeymoon, in this edition of Ideal Bride Magazine it’s to the Seychelles, a collection of 115 islands are scattered like gems in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

The world’s only granite-formed oceanic islands are instantly recognizable by the diamond white beaches and iconic beach boulders. This honeymoon haven has become more and more popular with honeymooners since the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose it for their post-wedding getaway, in 2011.

Fly from regional airports with Emirates via Dubai to The Seychelles, a flight that takes approximately 12 hours depending on connection time. You will fly in Mahe, where you will spend the first part of your honeymoon.

Mahe is the largest island within The Seychelles, but is still a tiny slice of paradise; the island is a mere 17 miles long and 5 miles wide. The capital city of Victoria is the world’s smallest capital city; however, the bustling capital is a vibrant contrast to the idyllic beaches.

There are a wide range of luxurious hotels on the island of Mahe, at Honeymoon Dreams we recommend the Constance Ephelia. We have chosen a senior suite situated along the south beach, they enjoy spacious interiors, huge beds and large bath tubs.

The ambiance of the island really comes to life within the layout of this island. Five restaurants are dotted around the resort offering a range of cuisines for all tastes and moods. Seychellois Creole flavours with a dash of African and French influences are some of the island favourites.

After spending 5 nights on Mahe, a short trip on a catamaran will take you to the exquisite Raffles Praslin. Placed on the second largest island in The Seychelles, this truly spectacular resort is a slice of paradise that truly speaks for itself. Immerse yourself in a haven of luxurious comfort, with private butlers offering a supreme level of service.

Spectacular views of the pretty Curieuse Island can be had from your Bay View Pool Villa. Looking across the island’s beautiful bay with tropical vegetation and partial ocean views, these pool villas offer a peaceful retreat fitting of a luxury holiday. A private plunge pool and outdoor rain shower only add serenity to your honeymoon. A private sun deck and loungers let you absorb the beauty of this resort from your secluded villa.

An isolated beach facing Curieuse Island is a beautiful addition this retreat. A wonderful honeymoon experience we recommend is exploring the nearby nature reserve, which can be reached via a private boat. Scuba diving, snorkeling, and sea kayaking are also available, if you want to discover the marine life of the Indian Ocean.

The hotels concierge will arrange a romantic picnic hamper, alongside directions to a secluded shell-strewn beach for you and your newlywed to enjoy. The Raffles Praslin’s spa is a vision of beauty, 12 treatment pavilions allow your vitalizing treatment to come with a free helping of fresh sea air.

A selection of restaurants are placed throughout the resort, our favourite being Restaurant Curieuse. A Seafood restaurant where you can enjoy catch of the day, fresh scallops, prawns and local island fish grilled to perfection.

The Body and Soul package currently on offer at the resort includes; a daily spa treatment, a spa turndown with drawn back and an excursion to the previously mentioned nature reserve, Vallee de Mai. Concierge at Raffles Praslin will liaise with you and your partner to arrange your ferry and private car transfer back to Mahe for your flight home.

This dedicated level of service from the moment you arrive, to the moment you leave; makes every guest feel special. The Seychelles couldn’t be much more idyllic, with sandy beaches and azure oceans almost fading into the background you become so used to their astounding beauty, it really is a struggle to leave.
